Often we can feel dissatisfied and frustrated with our life. We fail to get what we want, we effortlessly get what we don’t want, and we never seem to satisfy our many desires. All the while, amidst our daily struggles,  the context of our existence; birth, ageing, sickness and death, proceeds uncontrollably.

In this series we can understand that it is possible, within this very life, to find longlasting contentment and a durable peace. If we know there is a solution to our problems and suffering, we will have greater courage in facing and overcoming them.

This series will be based on the chapter ‘Samsara’, from the book How to Transform your life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Habits For Happiness

In Buddhism we understand that you can’t get enough of a good thing! But what exactly is a good thing? Is it material possessions, a good reputation, excitement, stimulation, or the presence of people we like?

We can only enjoy ourselves if our mind is peaceful and happy. Our mind can only be happy if positive states of mind are present. If these positive states become habitual, we will become happier and happier, and our negativity will grow weaker and weaker. Eventually we will become happy all the time.

This series will be based on the chapter ‘A Common Spiritual Practice for Everyone’, from the book How to Transform your life, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
