Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang is the principal teacher for Scotland and a former Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU. She has been a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than 25 years, during which time she has travelled the world teaching meditation and explaining Buddha’s teachings.  She has won the admiration and affection of many students through her extraordinary pure example of a modern-day Kadampa practitioner and her loving-kindness.  Her teachings are powerful and clear.
The KMC Glasgow team have been delighted and deeply honoured to welcome Gen-la as the Principal Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Glasgow and are enjoying a new chapter in our spiritual development under her loving guidance.

Kelsang Osung is the Resident Teacher of Vajrayana Kadampa Buddhist Centre and has been studying under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years. She is known for her kindness, warmth and her joyful yet sincere approach.

Kelsang Drolkar is a joyful and dedicated student who has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for several years and has recently ordained as a Buddhist nun.  Her previous work enabled her to travel extensively and meet a wide variety of people from all walks of life.  Drolkar combines her diverse personal experience with practical insight and a warm heart in all the classes she teaches. She teaches the Sunday evening class, Southside class and Kids Club classes, as well as regular Saturday courses at the temple.

Originally from Ireland, Arthur has been studying Buddhism and practising meditation for many years in Glasgow, combining this with his work as a doctor. He teaches in a practical way that is applicable to everyday situations. Arthur teaches classes in Glasgow and Milngavie.



Gen Kelsang Machigmachig

Gen Kelsang Machig is the retired principal teacher of our West End Centre, Vajrayana Buddhist Centre, and teaches occasional classes and special events at KMC Glasgow and Vajrayana Buddhist Centre.  A devoted meditator with over 15 years of teaching experience, Machig shares her wealth of understanding with others with great insight, warmth, and humour.  A well-loved teacher not to be missed!

Nicky is a warm-hearted teacher and an experienced meditation practitioner.  She has also engaged in several meditation retreats and is an active volunteer at Kadampa Meditation Centre.  She brings to her teachings a sincere interest in helping others, a clear and insightful understanding of how meditation and mindfulness can improve our daily life, and a skillful way of making the teachings accessible and relevant to our busy modern lives.



Joelle McCallumjoelle

Joelle is a warm and friendly teacher with a background in social care. She enjoys teaching in an interactive way and is very skilled at making the teachings accessible and easy to understand.  Joelle has a young daughter and teaches our parents and tots classes at KMC Glasgow.

Kelsang Gakyi is a Buddhist nun and teaches classes in Hamilton and East Kilbride. Having practiced and studied Buddhism and meditation for many years, she uses her previous experience as a nurse and mother to offer clear explanations of how to integrate Buddha’s teachings into busy modern life.

As a physiotherapist and mother of three, Emma strives to put meditation and mindfulness into practice in her daily life and as a result has experienced better relationships and an enhanced ability to cope with stress and adversity at work and at home.  Emma‘s teachings reflect her sincere wish to help those in need and to share her experience of Buddha’s effective practical advice with others.

Jon is a semi-retired teacher, musician and father, who shares his experience of applying Buddhist teachings in a practical way in his own life.  With a steady, calm and sincere approach, Jon shows how Buddha’s teachings can be integrated into our everyday life. He teaches our weekly drop-in class in Elgin.

Tom Banks works as a forester and has been practicing Buddhism for many years.  Tom finds Buddhist teachings reflect his own scientific way of thinking and incorporates his love of nature and the outdoors in his teachings.  Tom teaches the weekly drop-in class in Aviemore.

Santu recently moved to Moray from Preston where he was a dedicated meditation teacher for decades. Retired after a career in engineering, Santu is married with two adult children and brings to his classes a wealth of teaching and personal life experience, as well as a deep commitment to helping others experience the many benefits of meditation.  Santu teaches our weekly classes in Inverness .
