Letting Go of Limitations

Identifying with limitations can be very painful, and can make us feel we are unable to move forward or develop as a human being.  As a result we become unhappy, anxious and even resentful.  Yet all these limitations come from our own mind, so if we can learn to change our mind and adopt a different point of view, then we can gradually free ourself from the belief that we are inadequate in any way.  This course will help us to see where our limitations are coming from, and offer positive ways to reduce and finally let go of them.

Learn to Meditate

Meditation is an ancient, well tested and highly effective method for developing inner peace and pure happiness in our lives. It helps us to reduce our stress and mental discomfort by creating inner space and a sense of contentment. It also helps us to gradually improve our mental and physical wellbeing, and our relationships with others.

In this short series, we will practise some simple breathing meditations. We will learn precisely what meditation is, why it is so beneficial, and how actually to meditate. Through this we will develop greater confidence in our ability to meditate, and come to enjoy its many advantages. Whether new to meditation, or experienced, this series will be of benefit to you.

This series is based on the book ‘The New Meditation Handbook’, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Overcoming Stress and Anxiety

Perhaps the most common impediment to our wellbeing and happiness is the almost universal experience of stress and anxiety. These negative states of mind frequently interfere with our ability to perform our daily tasks, our capacity to cope with unexpected or challenging situations, and our chances of experiencing a contented and fulfilling life.

In this series,  we will identify precisely the inner causes of these mental ailments, how they develop and become habitual, and how we can begin to reduce and ultimately overcome them. By applying this understanding and experience to our daily lives, we will lighten the heavy load that stress and anxiety bring to us.

This series is based on the book How to Solve our Human Problems by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
