About the Course

According to Buddha’s teachings on the law of karma, all problems, unhappiness and negative tendencies come from the ripening of negative karmic potentials on our mind created through our past unskilful actions. Although we cannot change the fact that these actions took place, we can purify the potential for these karmic seeds to give rise to suffering and come to enjoy the happiness of a completely pure mind.

To help living beings to purify their minds completely and swiftly, Buddha taught a special method of purification in conjunction with the practice of the Tantric Deity, Vajrasattva. Through relying upon this method we can free ourself from our burden of negativity and eventually enjoy a completely pure body, mind and world.

This course will introduce us to the practice and help us become confident to engage in it on our own. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to engage in two guided retreat sessions. Everyone is welcome, no previous experience is necessary.

About the Teacher

Kelsang Drolkar is a joyful and dedicated student who has been practising Kadampa Buddhism for several years and has recently ordained as a Buddhist nun.  Her previous work enabled her to travel extensively and meet a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Drolkar combines her diverse personal experience with practical insight and a warm heart in all the classes she teaches. She teaches the Sunday evening class, Southside class and Kids Club classes, as well as regular Saturday courses at the temple.
