The Power of Prayer
Saturday 4 April
With Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Osung
About this course
Join us for a half day meditation workshop exploring the power of prayer.
At times when we feel helpless, prayer is incredibly effective for transforming our state of mind. It turns our attention to something positive, holy and uplifting, and has the power to shift us out of our worry and frenzied concerns.
Prayer strengthens our connection to the Buddhas and holy beings, and the stronger our connection to Buddha the better able we are to face our adversites with wisdom, courage and strength.
During this course Gen Osung will introduce us to the prayer practices of Buddha Tara called Liberation from Sorrow, whereby we pray for all beings to be protected from all sufferings and dangers; and a special prayer practice of Buddha Avalokiteshvara, the transference of consciousness practice, or powa, for all those who have recently died.
We can engage in these practices as often as we wish, deeply motivated by compassion for all living beings to be permanently released from their suffering.
Everyone is welcome!
