Weathering The Storm
A half day retreat on the peaceful clarity of the mind
Saturday 18 April Online
With Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Osung
About this course
With our current difficult times we are probably experiencing many anxious thoughts and unpleasant feelings. Maybe we’re even obsessively projecting the very worst outcome and becoming paralysed with fear. It can all feel very overwhelming. It can also feel painful to be more solitary, left with the kind of thoughts that we would normally distract ourselves from.
This situation however, gives us a unique opportunity – to learn how to weather the storms in our mind by learning the art of accepting, investigating and letting go and moving on from our fears and sadness. We learn through meditation how to calm our mind and feel more peaceful in our heart.
The meditations on the clarity of our mind are a wonderful way to dive beneath the surface turbulent thoughts, worries and stresses and access the deeper, naturally peaceful nature of our mind. Or to access our blue sky like mind even when it is covered with storm clouds.
Venerable Geshe-la says in ‘How to Solve our Human Problems’:
“Just as there is room in the sky for a thunderstorm, so there is room in the vast space of our mind for some painful feelings; and just as a storm has no power to destroy the sky, unpleasant feelings have no power to destroy our mind.”
On this half day retreat we will be guided in meditations that will help us to find the inner stillness and peace at the eye of the storm.
Everyone is welcome!
